Commitment to advancing healthy aging:

One way Neighbors Who Care measures it effectiveness in the additional clients and volunteers we attract and serve each year. NWC started as a grassroots organization and today serves over 70 clients. Our measurable goal is to serve at least 10 new clients per year and to grow awareness of the needs of this population to our communities.
NWC volunteers have been instrumental in helping to keep clients in their homes rather than being transferred out to the hospital, nursing homes. Discharge planners from our local hospitals often engage our services as they realize that a return to a hospital after discharge is costly to the hospital and often occurs because of the loneliness the patient experiences on returning home.
