Since 2021, Central Massachusetts as a region has been recognized as an Age-Friendly community committed to improving quality of life for older residents.
The 2023 Age-Friendly Central Mass Action Plan outlines strategies focused on transportation, community health, communication, and access to information. Each year, Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) publishes a status report highlighting progress made toward these goals and recognizing the efforts of age-friendly partners across the 40-community region.
The CMRPC Age Friendly Action Plan 2025 Status Report is now available and showcases accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and continued collaboration to support older adults throughout Central Massachusetts.
The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative is proud to support and partner with CMRPC. MHAC encourages any community or region working to advance age- and dementia friendly efforts to review the CMRPC progress report for inspiration and great examples of cross-sector and cross-community collaboration.
