The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative is pleased to promote the following meetings from our network of partners that promote inclusive age- and dementia friendly communities.

Join the Executive Office of Aging & Independence for a special Caring for the Caregiver session in honor of National Nutrition Month. Lynn O’Neal, LMHC, CIMHP, from Greater Lynn Senior Services, will introduce the food as medicine approach, demonstrating how simple dietary choices can improve emotional health, boost energy, and support overall well-being. She will also share resources for continued learning through her recorded, four-part Food as Medicine online workshop series.

Following Lynn’s presentation, guest speaker Kelly Slattery, RDN, LDN, Nutrition Program Director at the Executive Office of Aging & Independence, will share information about nutrition programs available across Massachusetts. These programs can help ease caregiving burdens and ensure that both you and your care recipient have access to the nourishment you need. Caregivers who attend this session will learn how to: – Use nutrition to support their own emotional and physical well-being. – Identify practical, achievable dietary changes to improve energy and resilience. – Access state-wide nutrition programs and resources for themselves and their care recipients.

Cognitive rehabilitation therapy supports individuals living with mild cognitive impairment and early-stage dementia in maintaining and improving function in daily life. However, access remains limited due to constraints in the availability and scalability of trained therapists. Recent advances in artificial intelligence, combined with evolving reimbursement pathways for remote care in the United States, now make virtual delivery models increasingly viable, creating new opportunities to expand access to high-quality cognitive care.

This talk will describe Moneta Health’s AI-enabled platform architecture, clinical workflow integration, and commercial delivery model, alongside real-world clinical outcomes. Results demonstrate statistically significant improvements in cognitive function and quality-of-life measures, as assessed using validated clinical instruments, within a supervised virtual care framework. The presentation will also provide an overview of Moneta’s MassAITC-funded pilot project, highlighting the role of AI in enabling voice-based clinical workflows, remote monitoring, and the delivery of personalized cognitive rehabilitation at scale.

Asset-based planning is an approach to community development that identifies and leverages community assets and strengths to support public health interventions. Asset-based planning models contribute to more equitable, sustainable, and community-driven public health interventions. This session will explore asset-based planning approaches to community health. The session will focus on sharing frameworks and examples, as well as space to share participants’ experiences, where assets-based framing can unlock new opportunities and bolster resiliency.
