According to a new report from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Massachusetts, one out of 10 MassHealth members is age 65 or over and, while most of those older adults also have Medicare coverage, most live in non-facility settings in their communities.

BCBS of MA Foundation’s latest edition of the MassHealth: The Basics chart pack provides new data on MassHealth enrollment and spending from the most recent state fiscal years available, as well as a high-level overview and status update on the state’s delivery system reform efforts.

This year’s edition of the chart pack features a refreshed look and feel and additional information on the MassHealth program, including a summary of the program’s impacts on access to care and health outcomes and new data highlighting the role of MassHealth in supporting the low-income workforce.

The fourth highest workforce group on MassHealth are labeled as “health care support workers,” which includes nursing and home care aides.
