Age-Friendly Funding Alert: BCBS ‘Connecting Consumers with Care’

May 29, 2019

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Massachusetts has announced the Connecting Consumers with Care grant program.

This opportunity is available to Massachusetts health centers and community-based organizations that assist low-income and vulnerable populations with accessing, maintaining, and navigating health insurance coverage. For Age-Friendly Communities that include these types of organizations on their steering committees and work-groups, this program provides a support opportunity to assist consumers of all ages with navigating insurance coverage and necessary medical care.

The maximum grant amount is $50,000 per year for up to two years for programmatic funding during the period of October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2021.

The Foundation seeks to fund organizations with sophisticated knowledge of and the ability to assist clients with enrollment and navigation of publicly subsidized health insurance programs, including MassHealth, Connector programs, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Health Safety Net.

This program is currently receiving proposals.  Please review the grant guidelines located in the right-hand column, which include eligibility criteria and application instructions.

Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) are required from organizations that are not currently funded, and wish to join the cohort.  Click here to submit an LOI by June 20, 2019 through the Foundation’s online grantmaking portal.
