Age-Friendly Funding Alert: Tufts Health Plan Foundation Redirects Momentum Fund to Support Communities During COVID-19

Jul 23, 2020

The coronavirus pandemic will continue to affect communities beyond the initial crisis phase. Stakeholders from communities across the region already have begun to consider challenges and opportunities that will accompany the recovery phase.

To give communities additional resources in this critical time, the Tufts Health Plan Foundation board voted to direct 2020 Momentum Fund mini-grants to support community resilience, retooling and rebuilding in response to COVID-19.

The Momentum Fund will continue to provide one-year mini-grants of up to $10,000 to support communities in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

The Foundation notes that there is no application process. Those interested are encouraged to contact the Foundation to share the needs, priorities and responses in your community. More information is available here.

Instead of formal proposals, the Foundation will act on input from state-based review committees and proactively learn from organizations about evolving community needs. Also, the Foundation will leverage relationships at nonprofit umbrella organizations (Philanthropy Massachusetts, New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits, Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island, and The Alliance in Connecticut) to inform their work and give them additional input on emerging needs and priorities.
