Age-Friendly Funding Alerts: Community Transit Grant is Coming Soon, Cultivating Connected Communities Challenge Deadline Approaching

The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative is pleased to promote the following funding opportunities that support inclusive age- and dementia friendly communities.

The Administration for Community Living (ACL) invites organizations to participate in the Cultivating Connected Communities Challenge. This national competition supports community garden projects working to expand accessibility, healthy eating, and community connection for people with disabilities and older adults through practical, sustainable approaches. Potential activities may include accessibility upgrades, adaptive gardening tools, and inclusive programming enhancements that help reduce social isolation, support well-being, and improve access to fresh foods.

  • COMING SOON: Community Transit Grant – Operating or Mobility Management projects, MassDOT Rail and Transit Division – applications accepted from 9/1 to 10/30

If you are interested in applying for funding to operate transportation or promote mobility management to expand mobility for older adults, people with disabilities, and low-income people, The FY 27 application will open on September 1, 2026, and close on October 30, 2026.
