- FY27 Community Transit Grant Program, MassDOT, applications due October 30th.
The FY 27 Community Transit Grant Program, Operating and Mobility Management grant cycle is now open. These grants provide funding to operate transportation or promote mobility management to expand mobility for older adults, people with disabilities, and low-income people.
Transit authorities, municipalities, Councils on Aging, non-profit organizations, and private operators of public transit (shared-ride) services can apply for funding. Projects must center the needs of older adults and people with disabilities, and all projects must respond to a need identified in your region’s Coordinated Human Service Transportation Plan.

- Local Cultural Council Program, Mass Cultural Council, applications due October 15
Artists, cultural organizations, community groups, schools, libraries, and creatives can now apply to their local cultural councils (LCCs) by October 15, 2026. This can include projects that support age- and dementia friendly community initaitives.
This year Mass Cultural Council will invest $5.85 million into the LCC Program, the nation’s largest grassroots cultural funding network.
LCCs provide arts and cultural grants to every community in Massachusetts through the efforts of more than 2,500 volunteers. They fund some 7,500 public projects annually that include everything from field trips to lectures, festivals, and dance performances. Mass Cultural Council allocations to LCCs range from $5,700-$313,60000, based on a formula that reflects state aid to municipalities.

Technical Assistance Opportunities from Mass Housing Partnership (MHP)
The ADU Incentive Program is a statewide initiative administered by MHP in collaboration with Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (HLC) to help property owners evaluate and advance ADU projects. The program will support homeowners in obtaining professional feasibility studies to assess whether an ADU is possible on their property, what it may cost, and what steps are needed to move forward.
Does your community have a board or commission that could use a little support on an affordable housing topic? Maybe the planning board is trying to understand different zoning tools that support multifamily and affordable housing development. Or perhaps the affordable housing trust fund is trying to prioritize what to invest in right now. This year, MHP has launched the Boards and Commissions Mini-Boost grant program to support boards and commissions that are working to create affordable housing. Small grants (max. $5,000 in technical assistance) can fund short-term problem solving and technical assistance projects that assist boards in capacity building.
Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is pleased to announce the relaunch of its Complete Neighborhoods technical assistance program, which supports municipalities, nonprofit, and for-profit developers seeking to advance affordable housing development in walkable, connected, and transit-served neighborhoods.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis starting September 16, 2026. Questions and general inquiries about the program should be directed to Senior Planner, Ashley Eaton.
