Bring CarFit Events to Your Community by Becoming a Trainer

Jun 15, 2022

CarFit is a joint initiative of AAA, AARP, and the American Occupational Therapy Association to promote older driver safety and mobility by assisting drivers in understanding how they fit in their vehicles and making adjustments to improve comfort and safety.

During CarFit events, drivers have a 20-30 minute session with a trained technician and an occupational therapy practitioner. Upcoming trainings can help communities working to become age-friendly to host their own CarFit events.

A training on Monday, July 25 in Winchester is an opportunity to get trained to organize and staff your own CarFit events.

The July 25 workshop is a full-day training in two parts:

  • Technician training – in the morning, we will learn how to adjust the cars. Sign up here and select the 7/25 training in Winchester
  • Event coordinator training – in the afternoon, we will learn how to organize the events so they are official CarFit events. Sign up here and select the 7/25 training in Winchester

Please note that, if you would like to be able to organize and run your own events, make sure to sign up for both the morning and afternoon sessions. If you just want to help adjust the cars at other people’s events, you may register for just the morning.

Other CarFit events in Massachusetts are listed here.
