DPH Community Health Equity Initiative Announces New Round of Survey and Data Collection

Feb 25, 2026

The Community Health Equity Initiative (CHEI) collects data on the social and structural causes of health experienced by Massachusetts residents, specifically among communities impacted by structural racism and other drivers of inequity. CHEI collaborates with community, state and local partners in using data to drive funding, programming and policy change to advance health equity.

In Summer/Fall 2026, the Community Health Equity Initiative (CHEI) will conduct another round of survey and qualitative data collection!

We invite you to join Health Resources in Action (HRiA) and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) for a collaborative listening session, where you will:

  • Share your priorities for upcoming CHEI data tools and engagement
  • Learn updates about the 2026 CHEI cycle
  • Strengthen connections with the CHEI teams

Your input can shape DPH’s data and engagement work, so CHEI collects information you can use to advance health equity!

After the session, the CHEI team will share back how your input informs CHEI work, and continue to provide updates on how you can get involved in 2026 CHEI data collection.

Register today for one of 3 listening sessions in March! Feel free to share with anyone you know who may be interested in attending. If you can’t attend any of these meetings, we’ll also share a form for you to provide your input.
