The Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) has drafted regulations intended to provide clarity on the administration of the new Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) law.
Now, EOHLC needs your input and invites stakeholders and interested community members to comment on the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Draft Regulations through written comments between December 20 and January 10, and a public hearing on January 10. EOHLC intends to issue final regulations by the effective date of the ADU law, February 2, 2025.
Please read a letter from Secretary Augustus here, which provides an overview of the ADU Draft Regulation process. A public webinar will take place on Monday, December 16 (sign up here) to walk through the draft regulations. For those unable to watch live, a recording of the webinar will be posted on EOHLC’s website.
EOHLC welcomes feedback on the Draft Regulations during the public comment period that will be open from December 20 to January 10, 2025. Public comments must be submitted through an online comment form that will be available on 12/20/24.
Beginning on December 20, an online comment form and signup form for the hybrid in-person and online hearing will be available at www.mass.gov/ADU.
