The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative is excited to share, on behalf of the Executive Office of Aging & Independence (AGE), a new way to explore the work underway across state government to make Massachusetts a great place to grow up and grow older.
Last year, ReiMAgine Aging 2030 was released as the Commonwealth’s age- and dementia-friendly state plan, providing a shared vision and framework for action through 2030. The plan is organized around six goals spanning economic security, community connection, livable environments, health and wellness, aging in all policies, and accessible and inclusive communication.
Alongside the release of the plan, Governor Healey signed Executive Order 642, and called on Executive Branch agencies to identify opportunities to embed age-friendly policies and practices throughout state government.
Now, a new interactive website makes it easier to explore both the vision and the progress behind this work. Visitors can explore the six goals of ReiMAgine Aging 2030 and learn about examples of age-friendly practices underway across the Healey-Driscoll Administration, and find a collection of free and reduced-cost programs and resources available to Massachusetts residents age 60 and older.
We invite our partners and stakeholders to explore the new website, learn about the work happening across state government, and consider how the goals of ReiMAgine Aging 2030 can inform your own work and communities.
Building an age- and dementia-friendly Massachusetts takes all of us. We hope these examples inspire continued collaboration, new ideas, and action to ensure people across Massachusetts can thrive at every age.
