Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is offering several opportunities for communities, local boards and commissions, and local housing advocates to receive education and technical assistance to promote affordable housing.
MHP is offering a virtual webinar series titled “Strengthening local boards and commissions to support affordable housing.” Practitioners using new development examples from across the state will help participants gain a deeper understanding of the local ecosystem that supports or hinders the development and preservation of affordable housing.
This training series was created for key local boards that touch the housing development process (e.g., planning, ZBA, select, housing trusts, AHC/AHPs, CPCs), people engaged in supporting affordable housing, and people interested in becoming engaged in supporting affordable housing. Details and registration are available here.
Additionally, MHP’s Community Assistance (CA) team offers direct technical assistance through the following programs:
- Local Housing Authorities Redevelopment & Vacant Land
- Housing Opportunity on Public Land (HOPL)
- Municipal Affordable Housing Trust technical assistance
- Complete Neighborhood Partnerships
- 40B technical assistance for Zoning Boards of Appeal
- Zoning and policy
More information on technical assistance opportunities is available here.
