The Fall 2021 edition of Planning Magazine, a publication of the American Planning Association-Massachusetts Chapter, featured the success of the MassDOT Shared Streets and Spaces Program, which awards bonus points for projects that are inclusive of older adults.

The publication also featured on page five a list of additional resources for communities to consider in creating public spaces for people of all ages throughout the year. Among that list is the Age-Friendly Winter Spaces guide, created by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, MHAC and WalkBoston along with the MHAC webpage of corresponding resources on ways communities can embrace winter with older adults in mind.
