The Mass Broadband Institute worked with stakeholders and community partners in creating the Statewide Digital Equity Plan (SDEP) – also known as the Internet for All Plan – which is now available for public comment through December 15th.

The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative is on the statewide Broadband and Digital Equity Working Group that helped advise MBI on the process. MHAC also cohosted a focus group of LGBTQ+ older adults with OutStandingLife that was among a long list of other community engagement activities run by MBI.

Based on federal funding requirements, “aging individuals” are included in priority “covered populations,” so older adults are mentioned throughout the draft plan. MHAC invites our stakeholder network to review the plan to ensure it reflects experiences and needs – especially section 2.3.4 that has a section on the “Needs and Barriers by Covered Populations” and begins with “aging individuals.”
