Recently, leaders from the John A. Hartford Foundation, Milbank Memorial Fund, Mass. Healthy Aging Collaborative and four age- and dementia friendly community initiatives in Massachusetts joined together for a webinar titled “A Conversation on Healthy Aging.”
The focus was on policies, practices and ideas from across the country that support healthy aging from Terry Fulmer of the John A. Hartford Foundation and Chris Koller from the Milbank Memorial Fund. This was followed by reactions and questions from age- and dementia friendly community leaders in Massachusetts, including Commissioner Emily Shea of the City of Boston Age Strong Commission (Age-Friendly Boston), Samantha Hamilton from the Public Health Institute of Western Mass. (Age/Dementia Friendly Springfield, Age-Friendly Health System at Baystate Health), Laura Kittross from the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission (Age-Friendly Berkshires) and Christine Sullivan of Coastline Elderly Services (Age-Friendly New Bedford).
MHAC thanks the leaders of the foundations and communities for an inspiring and informative set of presentations and discussion on how to connect partners and programs that support healthy communities for older adults.
