The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is accepting nominations for the 2020 Trailblazer in Aging Awards. There are several award categories listed below.

Last year’s winners included the Healthy Living Center of Excellence (HLCE) in the “innovator” category. HLCE is a member of MHAC’s Executive Committee and was awarded for its work integrating community services into the health care delivery system with evidenced-based programs across Massachusetts.

Innovator: This award recognizes an individual or organization who has created innovative solutions to improve the health or economic security of older adults in the community. It is in honor of Jack Ossofsky, a former NCOA president who launched numerous successful programs and promoted the true promises of an aging society.

Change Agent: This award recognizes an individual or organization working to ensure that every person—regardless of race, income, or background—has the resources to age well.

NISC Founder: This award recognizes exemplary and long-standing service to the senior center field. It is in honor of the nine founders of NCOA’s National Institute of Senior Centers.
