The Old Colony Planning Council (OCPC) is pleased to announce its official enrollment in the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities, as a regional entity. This follows the Health Equity Partnership of North Central Massachusetts (CHNA-9) as the second regional collaborative to join the age-friendly movement this year.
OCPC is joined by one of its member districts, the Town of Kingston, as they are recognized as the 988th community in the country to join the network. OCPC also supports age-friendly work in Easton and Duxbury. Other communities in their region like Brockton, Plymouth and Marshfield are also in the planning or implementation phases of their age-friendly efforts.
In Massachusetts, there are 134 recognized age-friendly communities. The regional collaborations, while counting as a single age-friendly commitment, cover more than 250 cities and towns.
