Mass Broadband Institute (MBI) is seeking operators of public and affordable housing properties in Massachusetts to participate in the Residential Retrofit Program. Communities working to become more age- and dementia friendly can partner with local housing operators to improve broadband access.
The program was launched in early 2024 and allows eligible public and affordable housing properties to improve broadband infrastructure. The improved infrastructure will enable residents to engage in essential daily activities such as working remotely, pursuing educational opportunities and accessing healthcare from home. Recently, the program launched the Round II Request for Proposals (RFP), which includes 9,000 units of affordable housing across 90 developments statewide.
Housing operators interested in participating in the program to bring residents of public and affordable housing improved broadband are encouraged to begin the process by filling out an expression of interest here. To learn more about the program visit the MBI Residential Retrofit webpage.
