Upcoming Events in Healthy Aging

The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative encourages stakeholders and communities involved in the age- and dementia friendly movement to check out the following upcoming events:

Join the Technology Learning Collaborative for Healthy Aging, co-hosted by the Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, on January 31st from 1:00-2:30 pm to learn and share updates on best practices as well as funding and partnership opportunities regarding digital equity and older adults.

Presentations on 1/31 will include Central Boston Elder Services, Mystic Valley Elder Services, Elder Services of Cape Cod & the Islands, and SeniorCare, Inc.

Join the Alzheimer’s Association of MA/NH for a free, virtual conference for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia and their families. Sessions will feature notable guest speakers and include a panel of persons living with early stage dementia. Topics include tips and strategies to living well with cognitive changes, use of expressive therapies and mindfulness practice to live well, a caregiver panel, how to approach resistance to care, and creating a healthy and safe environment for living with dementia.

Join the next webinar in the Caring for the Caregiver series hosted by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs and the MassTech Collaborative’s Mass Caregiving Initiative.

This webinar will outline the services and benefits of home care, eligibility requirements for in-home supports, and examples of how the home care program benefits older adults and their family caregivers.

AARP Livable Communities is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, February 8th between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.. This webinar will describe the 2023 Community Challenge grant program, explain the application process, highlight the work of a few past grantees who jump-started long-term changes in their communities, and answer applicant questions.
