WalkBoston Debuts Tool on ‘How to Report a Problem’ With Local Roads and Sidewalk Conditions

With an interactive map and local road search, WalkBoston is debuting a tool called “How to Report a Problem” to help local residents report problems and concerns with road and sidewalk conditions. In Massachusetts, there are no universal reporting standards, which highlights the need for such a tool.

Anyone can click a city/town on the map to find out if an online reporting system exists for your community. If there is no online reporting link, either that municipality does not use online reporting, or WalkBoston has not yet heard about their system. Municipalities have varying records on addressing issues submitted through online reporting systems.

The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative encourages communities working to become more age- and dementia friendly to test the tool in an effort to advocate for better roads, sidewalks and intersections.
