June 15th was World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) and several resources have been made available to help communities promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older people.

Elder Abuse awareness fact sheets in multiple languages are available via the WEAAD website here along with tools, tips and events.

In Massachusetts, Elder Abuse reports can be filed 24 hours a day either online or by phone via the state’s Elder Abuse Hotline at (800) 922-2275.

Other  useful resources are available in the “Elder Justice Toolkit” hosted by the National Center on Law and Elder Rights.
