Launching later this spring, the Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) ADU Incentive Program is designed to provide homeowners with clear, reliable, professional guidance to determine if an ADU is feasible on their property before they invest significant time, money, or emotional energy into a project.
This is the first phase of a multi-year initiative administered by the MHP in collaboration with the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) to promote ADU construction across the Commonwealth. During this phase, MHP will contract with qualified Feasibility Study Providers to assist interested homeowners. Names and contact information of qualified providers will be published on the MHP website.
How the program works:
- Property owners choose an MHP-approved feasibility study provider and work directly with the provider throughout the feasibility study process.
- Property owners and Providers schedule a preliminary intake call and a site visit.
- Providers will provide property owners with an individualized feasibility study, including Information about the property’s unique conditions and constraints, local zoning and permitting considerations, utility needs, preliminary design considerations, and high-level cost and budget estimates.
