One of the most exciting developments in the livable communities movement is the increasing collaboration between professionals who specialize in aging and the planners who shape the form and function of our communities.
AARP and AARP California, along with the American Planning Association and the American Society on Aging (ASA) hosted the second annual Summit on Livable Communities at the ASA’s annual Aging in America Conference, held in San Francisco in March.
The gathering was a rare opportunity during which more than 220 professionals came together to experience what cross-sector planning looks like. Hear what was discussed by listening to the 45-minute podcast featuring highlights from the presentations and conversations about how to better plan for the rapid aging of the U.S. population.
