Age-Friendly Funding Alerts: Deadline Less Than One Week for AARP Community Challenge Grant

The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative is pleased to promote the following funding opportunities that support inclusive age- and dementia friendly communities:

AARP’s Community Challenge grant program is open for the 9th year, which will again quick-action projects to make communities more livable and jump-start long-term change.

Applications are being accepted now through March 5 at 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT and must be submitted through //AARP.org/CommunityChallenge. Projects must be completed by December 15, 2025. The program is open to 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), 501(c)(6) nonprofits and government entities.

The Boston Foundation is offering a $2 million special round of Safety Net Grants to be awarded this spring, providing general operating support for Greater Boston social service organizations that respond to the essential needs of marginalized communities and vulnerable residents.

“Community One Stop for Growth” is a single application portal and collaborative review process of grant programs that make targeted investments based on a Development Continuum. Webinars will be happening throughout the month of February that give an overview of the program, guidance on the application, and individual program information. The deadline to submit an Expression of Interest is Mar. 26, 2025.

MBI’s Municipal Digital Equity Planning and Municipal Digital Equity Implementation Programs will receive $1.44 million, through the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) Digital Equity Capacity Grant Program. This funding will help additional municipalities develop and deploy digital equity plans to their communities. Municipalities with completed digital equity plans may apply for a direct grant of up to $100,000 through the Municipal Digital Equity Implementation Program. MBI reopened applications for the Municipal Digital Equity Planning Program and the deadline to submit is Friday, April 25.
