Mass Office on Disability Awards over $4.9 Million in Municipal ADA Improvement Grant Funds

The Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD) recently awarded a total of $4,910,668.61 to 59 municipalities across Massachusetts for FY25 through the Municipal ADA Improvement Grant.

Grants are available in the form of Planning Grants (for ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plans) and Project Grants for specific capital projects. The FY25 awarded grants include 25 Planning Grants and 34 Project Grants, including funds to improve access to Winthrop’s public library, Ware’s Town Hall and Andover’s Ballardvale Park. The FY25 cycle received the most applications in the program’s 9-year history. There were 140 total applications, representing 36 planning grants and 104 project grants and a total requested amount of $15,276,866.28. The budget was increased from $4M to $5M for FY25 to accommodate the growing number of applications.
