MassINC alongside Massachusetts Competitive Partnership (MACP) recently released a report called “Connected Communities: Providing Affordable Housing Residents with Unfettered Access to Digital Opportunity in Massachusetts,” which explores strategies to close the digital divide in Massachusetts through targeted investments in affordable housing developments.
The report builds on the 2022 MassINC-MACP digital equity action plan with a deeper look at the unique opportunities and challenges for these efforts in the affordable housing context.
While the analysis and near-term policy recommendations contained in this report are intended to help affordable housing leaders and policymakers, communities working to become more age- and dementia friendly can benefit from the knowledge and context to better support older adults in affordable housing.
The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative appreciates the inclusion and consideration of older adults throughout the report along with brief examples that involve organizations and partners like Tech Goes Home and the Boston Housing Authority.
