The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative is pleased to pass along the following events, which may be of interest to stakeholders advancing inclusive age- and dementia friendly communities:
Friday, April 14, 12 PM
We can’t plan for everything. But we can talk about what is most important – in our life, and in our health care – with those who matter most. Talking with the important people in our life can bring us closer together. It also helps us create the foundation of a care plan that’s right for all of us – a plan that will be available when the need arises. This April, in honor of National Healthcare Decisions Day, the Caring for the Caregiver webinar series is thrilled to host The Conversation Project to share insight with caregivers, including ice breakers, tips and tricks, and messaging ideas for how to have these conversations with the important people in your life.
May 9th, 8:30-4 (in-person) at College of the Holy Cross
This conference, presented by the Massachusetts Older Adult Behavioral Health Network (OABHN), will offer the opportunity to learn different cultural frameworks for spiritual and emotional wellbeing and healing, to connect with other providers who prioritize older adult mental health, to learn about new initiatives from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs and the Department of Mental Health, and to identify strategies for promoting connection and finding meaning and purpose in the aging process.
April 16th
Every year the Honoring Choices Partners & Friends celebrate National Healthcare Decisions Day, April 16, with our statewide April- June Spring celebration. Their collective goal is to ensure every adult has EQUAL ACCESS to health care planning tools to make a personal care plan for good care today and over their lifetime. The organization’s Partners & Friends use the Honoring Choices free, multi-lingual documents and tool kits to host fun events and activities with adults in their community. We’ll post your events on the 2023 April- June Events Calendar below, showing the diversity of your work.
