The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative is pleased to promote the following events from our partners that support the age- and dementia friendly movement:
- Managing Money as a Caregiver – Caring for the Caregiver Webinar Series, hosted by the Executive Office of Aging & Independence, Sept. 16th from 12:00-1:00 PM (virtual)
In this webinar, Lisa Schifferle from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Office for Older Americans will explore both sides of financial caregiving: helping manage a loved one’s finances responsibly and planning for your own future needs. Participants will learn about informal options such as conversation partners, trusted contacts, and convenience accounts, as well as formal arrangements including powers of attorney, guardians or conservators, trustees, and government fiduciaries. The session will also cover key responsibilities when managing someone else’s money, including acting in their best interest, managing money and property carefully, keeping finances separate, and maintaining good records.

- Register a Community Event for Good Neighbor Day from Sept. 25-29
The Massachusetts Coalition to Build Community and End Loneliness invites you to participate in the second annual Massachusetts Good Neighbor Day, a statewide celebration dedicated to strengthening connections, encouraging kindness, and fostering a deeper sense of belonging throughout the Commonwealth.
Officially recognized nationwide on September 28, we are extending our celebration from September 25 to 29 — a full weekend dedicated to bringing neighbors together.
This event is an opportunity for communities working to become more age- and dementia friendly to strengthen social connection, and local organizations can register an event here.
