Metropolitan Planning Organizations across Massachusetts are releasing draft plans for public comment for guiding transportation priorities for the coming years. It is important for age- and dementia friendly community stakeholders – and older adults more broadly – to participate and weigh in on these initiatives.

Examples of these plans include “2050 Connections” from the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning, “Journey to 2050” from the Montachusett MPO (covering north central Massachusetts), and the Pioneer Valley Regional Transportation Plan.

All of the state’s Metropolitan Planning Organizations (or MPOs) are listed on this website along with some other helpful information on what is required of these organizations in terms of transportation planning. The Massachusetts Healthy Aging Collaborative encourages its network to find the relevant regional plans and submit  comments.
