MHAC is excited and proud to pass along a TEDx Talk presentation from one of our partners and Advisory Council members, Beth Soltzberg who directs the Alzheimer’s/Related Disorders Family Support Program at Jewish Family & Children’s Service in Waltham.
In a presentation full of images captured at various memory cafes, Beth challenges us to consider who we are without our memories and invites us to explore safe spaces for those with and without dementia to experience connection, creativity, and joy beyond our notions of who we think we are.
Beth’s Percolator Memory Cafe Network has helped to develop and spread the Alzheimer’s/Memory Café model, which originated in Holland and has been replicated globally. Beth leads the Dementia Friends Massachusetts public awareness program, and is part of the statewide leadership team promoting dementia friendly community initiatives. For more information on memory cafes please visit www.jfcsboston.org/Percolator.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
