Two surveys are available now that are important to informing the future of the Age- and Dementia Friendly movement in Massachusetts.
The deadline for survey responses tied to the Massachusetts Age- and Dementia Friendly Action Plan refresh was extended to September 30th. Fill out the survey here.
Led by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, Massachusetts is working to refresh an action plan to guide the state’s age- and dementia-friendly actions for the next 5-10 years. The action plan serves as the state’s multi-year strategy to make the Commonwealth more age- and dementia-friendly. From the beginning, this action plan was designed to be a living document that would be continuously updated and renewed over time. Becoming more age- and dementia-friendly is an ongoing process that requires direction from residents and community partners.
Additionally, Massachusetts Councils on Aging has also developed a survey (also available through September 30) to gain insights about the successes and challenges communities and partners are experiencing in providing support and programs to people living with dementia and their caregivers.
If you are interested in becoming a designated Dementia Friendly Massachusetts community or have any questions on the process, please reach out to Maddie Noonan at madeline@mcoaonline.org or Hayley Wood hayley@mcoaonline.org.
